Human Resources
As an independent consultant, Tim works with clients to assist them in the development and execution of business, operational, and HR strategies and programs. Collaborating with clients to develop their future vision, he takes the process further to facilitate the breakdown of the strategies into manageable programs and projects that will achieve that future state. He has also managed the implementation of many of these programs and projects including leadership development programs, workforce management analysis, process re-design and technology implementation/integration, development of strategic plans and presentations, HR metrics dashboards, crisis management planning, and business expansion methodologies including M&A and new country start-up.
Tim started his career as a pilot and flight instructor in Canada where his insights and organizational skills contributed to operational efficiencies around flight crew management and pilot recurrency training. He then moved into the oil and gas exploration sector in Calgary as the VP Administration for a small company specializing in seismic data management with offices in Canada and the United States. He served as the entire HR and IT teams as well as leading the finance and accounting group. In 1996 Tim moved to Dallas to join Perot Systems Corporation where he provided consulting expertise in process improvement and technology deployment for external clients. Later, as an internal consultant, he specialized in bringing operational efficiencies to the HR Team and merged three separate HR operating groups into a single HR Shared Services group. As an HR strategist, Tim has led various initiatives that contributed to the improvement of HR service delivery. He was also a member of the HR business expansion team where he was engaged in HR due diligence and post acquisition integration for domestic and international acquisitions. He also served as the Global Director of HR as well as the interim VP HR for two India acquisitions.
In 2007 Tim left Perot Systems to become an independent consultant and began an engagement with a nonprofit spin-off from the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, DC where he provided counsel on strategy development and implementation of administrative operations. In addition, he has consulted extensively with a New York and Irving, Texas based health care services company in the development of HR strategies and programs. He has also provided expertise as a process architect on an implementation of a sales force automation application with Ingenix in Minneapolis. Other engagements have included consultation on the development of HR metrics and delivery of leadership development programs.
On the fun side, Tim has merged his business skills and his passion for the ocean and coral reef life with the Central Caribbean Marine Institute, a nonprofit coral reef research center on Little Cayman, where he is a member of the Board of Advisors, strategist, and an occasional research diver.
